Some others are asking themselves why in the world would I want to take a
"photojournalism" workshop, even if going to Yosemite is darn cool. Whatever, I just want to take photos of nature. Well, consider this, the best photographers in the world are master story
tellers with a camera... PHOTOJOURNALIST! Here is why, photojournalism requires you to think about what to shoot to communicate in the photographic language. This process causes you to anticipate and know
what to shoot, rather than simply being guided by your emotions or ever changing whims. For the serious amateur this workshop will teach you how to story tell with your camera, capturing sound and build
multimedia soundslides for the web. Also, you will be advanced to the next level as a shooter. For the seasoned pro, you will be challenged professionally by one of the best picture editors in the business
and you'll learn the latest trends in 21st century photojournalism. OHHHH, almost forgot, we have timed this workshop to be in Yosemite at the peak of the winter snow melt, which translates to spectacular

world. They have cool animals including severely endangered animals like cheetahs, black rhinos, maned wolves, mexican grey wolves, red wolves and many more. Then there is the Dinosaur Valley State Park,
The new Dinosaur World and many other great subjects rich in photo ops to cover. Oh, did we mention the incredible fields of bluebonnets? At week's end, we will build a website to host everyones multimedia
projects, plus a coffee table book will be created with everyones photo stories. I am no stranger to photography courses and education, having received an Associates of Arts in Photojournalism along with my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism as well as having completed a number of post graduate courses at Brooks Institute of Photography and other photo workshops... This course (21C Photojournalism) was one of the most valuable--if not the most valuable--photographic experience I have ever encountered. -Larry Jones I attended the Texas Photo Workshop at Fossil Rim in Glen Rose, TX. Quick summary: (i) excellent value for the money (ii) 5 days focused instruction improved my ability to see and edit better images by at least 2 years (lll) highly recommended. Kevin's experience as photo editor of Texas Highways Magazine, combined with a genuine desire to help me find a stronger artistic, technical and storytelling focus really made this experience invaluable. I found his mentoring to be very generous, and (appropriately) critical without harshness.
